Jody and Greg's wedding was a magical day, full of joy, celebration and playful, quirky, autumnal style in the fab rural location of Cissbury Barns. Jody and Greg are a fab, creative, couple and gave the day loads of arty personal touches, creating a cosy, autumnal, vintage feel with pumpkins, candles and gorgeous-coloured flowers from the Sussex Flower Farm. Although a fairly intimate wedding, with 60 or so guests (which the venue is perfect for) there was a great blend of cultures, too, with friends and family of the Groom travelling from South Africa to celebrate, adding a happy richness to the day. A playful side to the celebrations was added by quirky animal artwork on tables, boules and the fabulous Instavan. I love the fact that the wedding cake was completely made of cheese.
I got to know the lovely Jody and Greg quite well before the wedding, meeting up with them a few times to discuss their plans and do a Pre-Wedding Shoot. Knowing Greg was up for silly shots, we managed a great Grooms-party location shoot in Homefield park on the day of the wedding (in their very dapper Dandylion Style suits) . Getting to know Jody and Greg also meant that when Jody was feeling a bit nervous in the hours before the wedding, I didn't add extra stress by being an unknown outsider during the bridal preparation shots. I was touched when Jody told me the sight of me at the venue when she arrived even helped calm her nerves. (Please note stylish arrival in vintage VW van) All nerves were replaced with excitement and happiness of being married once vows were said and rings on fingers! Jody looked absolutely amazing in her two-piece outfit from Velvet Birdcage and a stomp through the fields
